The Cyber in Minecraft Certified Educator professional development course provides Educators with the skills to enable them to deliver an up-to-date cybersecurity curriculum. Using an easy to teach credential and curriculum program Educators with little or no computer science or cybersecurity experience can deliver a highly engaging computer science curriculum.
These courses are delivered virtually throughout the school year and are comprised of three two-hour workshops over a period of two weeks which involve candidates undertaking homework activities between workshop sessions with an approx. time commitment of two hours per workshop.
Primarily hands-on practical activities and instructor-led demonstrations are used to immerse Educators and accelerate classroom implementation.
The three workshops in each course cover:
1. Minecraft Education Basics for Cybersecurity
2. Cyber in Minecraft Student Experience
3. Cyber in Minecraft Educator Experience
Upon successful completion of the course, Educators are awarded a Cyber in Minecraft Certified Educator credential and certificate and completion enables Educators to successfully deliver a computer science curriculum using Cyber in Minecraft with their students at no additional cost.
Cyber in Minecraft is a cybersecurity credential program, delivered through Minecraft Education. The program enables students to gain a solid foundation in critical cybersecurity skills and helps them to remain safe online preparing them for the challenges that exist in today’s digital world. Upon completion of the Certified Educator course Educators will be able to use the program to engage young learners in an immersive computer science and cybersecurity curriculum and rewards their learning with credentials. The program comprises of 3 units where students learn cybersecurity concepts including Digital Citizenship, Networking and Security with formative assessments before attempting the cybersecurity capstone credential exam.
Cyber in Minecraft provides students with skills in-demand job roles, building the workforce of tomorrow and creating economic opportunity. Students learn immersed in highly engaging Minecraft Education worlds. The learning is student-led, while being educator facilitated and students can complete learning activities before undertaking assessments to prove their skills.
