Going with the STREAM

As an elementary teacher, you are laying the foundation for all future careers, especially those in STEM. Research shows that between the ages of 7 and 11, most successful STEM innovators began exploring their career pathways through school and after-school experiences.

With limited time in the school day, success comes with better integration, not more content. Going with the STREAM includes research-backed modules designed to help you seamlessly blend literacy, math, STEM, and computer science, making learning more engaging and dynamic for young minds. By using children’s literature and nonfiction as a springboard, you’ll guide students in solving real-world problems through hands-on, computer science-themed projects.

This training introduces interactive games, posters, SMART objects, and prototyping automated solutions, equipping students with the tools and skills they need for success in a technology-driven world. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of how to integrate literacy, math, and STEM with technology, transforming students from passive consumers into active creators and problem-solvers.

Additionally, you’ll explore EdTech tools that align with research-backed software, ensuring that what you learn in this PD can be applied in a classroom or as part of an after-school program for years to come.
